Off-duty cop shoots at (and misses) youngsters in Moreno Valley

Another incident from the beginning of the month. We know that these officers are shooting at people all the time, but it is amazing that even when they are off-duty, they are given the same anonymity as when they shoot in the line of duty. This case is particularly cryptic--the agency he works for is not disclosed, and even though the victims (referred to by the police state as "suspects") are not charged with anything, (i.e., didn't do anything) there is no investigation or charges brought against the aggressor.

On March 3, 2013, about 10:10 AM, an off-duty law enforcement officer was involved in an altercation in the area of Red Maple and Saddlebrook Lane in Moreno Valley. The officer reported that he had been attacked and had fired one shot during the incident. No one was injured by gunfire and no property was damaged. Three male juveniles involved in the incident were detained but later released.

The investigation is ongoing, therefore, the name of the officer as well as the Department he works for are being withheld at this time. The names of the juveniles will not be released.
