Local favorite KPFK, one of the few independent media outlets in the area, has given the Jose Herrera case some audio coverage:

(KPFK News - Los Angeles) Residents of the Inland Empire showed up to an Ontario city council meeting this week to demand answers in the fatal officer involved shooting of a 58 year-old grandfather. Jose Raul Herrera was pronounced dead early this Mother's Day morning after Ontario police responded to a 9-1-1 call about a drunken, belligerent man.
But the family says they were calling for medical attention not police intervention. They're asking for a full investigation into what they describe as an officer's lethal mistake.
Pacifica KPFK's Ernesto Arce has more from the Inland Empire.
