Upland PD shoots Christian Rodriguez 9 times

This is what you get for wandering into the wrong neighborhood at the wrong time when you're the wrong color. This is an upscale neighborhood just minutes away from the police station in Upland. Definitely a place where you'll get profiled for not "fitting in." Looks like that's what happened here, with the police first not knowing whether the brother was armed, and them being sure of it. The family says he wasn't armed, and the burden of proof is obviously on the cops. There have been two areticles in the Daily Bull:

SB Sheriffs shoot at and miss "uncooperative" man in Yucaipa

rQRo's picture

Found this one on the sheriff's website back at the beginning of the month. Interesting story if nothing else. They shoot at a brother in Yucaipa, claiming he shoot at them first. They miss him, but in the meantime, he gets away. At least that's how the cops tell it...

Riverside police shoot and kill unidentified man, 39

rQRo's picture

This story is still unfolding. The police are accusing the victim of having used a vehicle (which they claim was stolen) to ram a police vehicle. They call this circumstance "using a deadly weapon (i.e. the car) against police," which they feel gives them license to shoot, regardless of their distance from the victim, the direction of travel of the car, etc. We have seen them using this excuse to shoot people who are using vehicles to flee from them. Many unanswered questions here.
