Riverside sheriff's deputy crashes into Grandpa and Granddaughter in Elsinore

rQRo's picture

These types of incidents seem to be piling up--cops are driving too fast or recklessly, and crash into civilians, often with tragic results. Fortunately, it seems like nobody was injured too bad in this case. Doesn't even look like it's being treated as an act of negligence. It's too bad--they should really usher the officer to a drug test immediately like they do to anybody driving a forklift who has a collision of any sort. It's too late for that, but that's the kind of response we would like to see when these incidents occur.

Here's some reporting from the Press-Enterprise:

Family of Lamon Haslip files suit over police killing

rQRo's picture

We have been waiting to hear what the followup on the Lamon Khiry Haslip death was going to be. We knew it was an injustice--the brother was shot in the back while handcuffed face-down on the ground. Well his family is filing suit! We wish them the best in the proceedings. Here's an article from the Press-Enterprise:

Jurupa Valley Police Department shoots and kills man

rQRo's picture

Once again, a police murder with absolutely NO PRESS COVERAGE (please correct me if I'm wrong!)! And once again, sounds like the guy was unarmed, even if the pig is claiming that he says he had a gun. Why is it that if you tell them your name they don't believe you, but if you say you have a gun, then all of a sudden you are unimpugnable?

UPDATE: Found some coverage. See below:

Here's a link to the pig version of the story, from the RSD press release:
