Riverside sheriffs shoot and kill Mickey Larragoitiy, 58, in Menifee

rQRo's picture

This is from late April, but it is a horrible story and a horrible example of what goes wrong when police are too eager to escalate and are incapable of dealing with people in crises or with mental health issues. Justice for Mickey!

Here's a write-up from the Press-Enterprise:

This incident occurred in Salton City, which is in Imperial County, but it happened to a Coachella Valley resident, so we thought it important to document the murder here and start asking some questions.

Jury clears city and officer in fatal shooting of David Ledezma

rQRo's picture

At the beginning of January 2012, the RPD shot and killed David Ledezma, who they accused of trying to kill them because he was drunk and waving around a length of pipe. He was no threat to them whatsoever, and the pigs are full of shit. This follow-up article came out in February, but we hadn't been able to post it up until now. Rest in peace, Mr. Ledezma. Justice for David Ledezma!

DA clears SB sheriff's detective Joshua Smith in shooting death of Clyde Murray

rQRo's picture

The DA just issued his report exonerating this detective of any wrongdoing. Never mind that the guy was running away, not toward the police, or that he was attempting to climb a fence at the time the shooter claimed he was reaching for his waistband--or was he reaching into his bag? The story seems to have changed a few times over the course of the investigation. But nevermind the details. The DA's job is to find these guys acted within policy regardless of the circumstances, right?

SB Sheriff shoots and kills Jason Wilson, 25, in Chino Hills

rQRo's picture

The media are characterizing the victim as having been on a "rampage." It does look like there was some violence going on, but we question whether the incident had to end fatally. Here's some coverage from the corporate media.

CHP shoots and kills David Mulder, 43, in Fontana

rQRo's picture

They're accusing this brother of killing someone. They're also saying that he was released as part of the statewide "realignment" of incarcerated people--part of the slander campaign against the criminalized population. We'll see what else develops in this case, but for now, we're remaining very skeptical about anything that comes out of the cops' mouths--especially Fontana PD.

Here's a few articles I was able to turn up:
